Webdesk, TNI Kolkata, 27th August, 2015: Mudiali, of the Kolkata’s heritage Durga Puja is celebrating its 81st Durga Puja this year. TNI in a bid to pip in the mondop preparation went to see the pandal premises.  TNI met the Mondop artist of Mudiali this year Mr. Surendra Nath Surai from Howrah. For the last three years, he has worked with this puja committee, which is associated with this Pandal. Surendra Babu said “I like to shape my Mondop as a theme mondop. This year I am trying to reflect my ideas as ‘Ichhe Dana’.  According to my contemplation, though we all try to fly as a bird in our own way, however in practical life that is not possible. This may be due to our social responsibility and other barriers. However, we are on the fly psychologically”. Surendra Babu also added “The mondop is covered by created wings at around 10,000 pieces, which are made by materials like fur, paper, tin, cloth, sea shell etc. There would be hanging fairies from the top of the mondop.” TNI also spoke to one of the officials of the Mudiali Durga Puja Committee Mr. Manoj Sau. He said “As far as our Durga Idol is concerned, we believe in ‘Sabeki Protima’ (traditional Durga idol) so we don’t try in experimenting with the Durga Idol this is our specialty. In this year our puja budget is around Rs. 32 lakhs approximately”.
